Bill has done a superlative restoration job on this fine Victorian house. I will not hesitate to say it is the best that I have seen in the past 40 years.

My husband and I stayed at Gower Manor for a 7-day break from the craziness of Toronto, and felt as if we had travelled back to a gentler time, to a residence with beautifully crafted furniture, comfortable and elegant rooms, and a friendly host whose only concern is your comfort and enjoyment while staying in St. John's. Gower Manor is the centre of it all, within walking distance to the harbour, restaurants, pub & many points of interest. We were impressed with its cleanliness and comfort and would recommend it to anyone wishing to enjoy a worry-free stay at a wonderful restful accommodation after a busy day of sightseeing.

Bill, Thanks a million! It was such a great idea to share your home. You're a gem in hospitality and such a good story teller. I truly enjoyed out stay at your house.

Gower Manor's location is supercentral, not far from all exciting places in St John's. In the evening it is within walking distance to the entertainment part of the city. The B&B is like a living museum with lots of small details. The main theme is the music of the 20s. Lots of records, starposters and old phonographs. Everything is restored in a great condition, each room has a different style. Bill is a superhost, and it's a real family. He's got a lot of tips and also interesting stories to tell if you want to. The communication, payment, check-in, check-out went perfectly. I would book here anytime!

Located in the middle of 'Jelly Bean Row' host Bill Marshall provides a time travel entry into old St John's. His 35 years experience in house renovation has created a jewel with original glassware and fourteen secret spaces behind pictures and shelves. Eclectic interests mean travelers can browse 1930s and 1940s dective novels while listening to his extensive collection of gramophone records. Weather the main floor sitting room or third floor one can have private space surrounded by antiques. Bill's local knowledge will set you right for restaurants and tourist interests. A superior place and genial host created a perfect place for us to spend six days in early Sept.

Bill is a truly exceptional host. He goes above at beyond at every opportunity to make you feel comfortable and welcome in his beautiful home. This house is absolutely spotless and superbly organized - you will feel right at home. He went out of his way to make sure I could get around town with ease. His home is conveniently located in downtown St. John's close to all the shops and restaurants. Signal Hill is also a short walk away. His home is filled with antiques, which he enthusiastically showed to me when I inquired. You cannot go wrong staying with Bill and he will undoubtedly make your stay in St. John's one to remember.
